The red fruit sector continues its meteoric breakthrough. According to the figures provided exclusively to La Vie éco by the Interproferries Moroccan Interprofessional Federation,
the 2018-2019 crop year will be closed in June, marked by growth, just like the previous seasons. To consolidate its performance, the inter-profession is preparing a new program contract covering the period 2019-2023.
In less than ten years, the production of the red fruit sector has evolved by 42%. This is a very remarkable development for a sector that has only existed for three decades.
“The cultivation of small red berries is a recent crop, with high added value, generating jobs and very good export performance,” says Abdessalam Acharki, director of Interproberries.
